Verboten!

Verboten!

The purple pins are places you can't or at least shouldn't go.

These places are on this list for one or more of the following reasons:

  • legally prohibited
  • private property
  • dangerous, toxic, or just plain stupid

Verboten is German for forbidden. In French that would be interdite, which probably has never stopped anybody. It certainly never stopped the Germans. Deutsche is a fine sledgehammer of a language.

Muskrat

Muskrats are common across the state. While considerably bigger than plain old rats, they are nowhere near the size of beavers, which can get to 50 pounds. Muskrats have tails that are slightly flattened from side to side, unlike beavers which have broad flat tails. Both animals build conical houses in the water, but only beavers build dams.
