Verboten!

Well, it's that time of year again, time to renew the web hosting. And for those of you that don't know, that has become a lot more expensive than it used to be. Fifty dollars a year is now several hundred. Not to mention the price of domain names has gone up ten-fold.

And I just found out that the nice folks at PayPal disabled all my Support buttons, and I never got a notice (although that may be my fault.) In any case, it is all working again now, so if you would like to make a small donation to help defray these costs, it would be greatly appreciated.

Verboten!

The purple pins are places you can't or at least shouldn't go.

These places are on this list for one or more of the following reasons:

  • legally prohibited
  • private property
  • dangerous, toxic, or just plain stupid

Verboten is German for forbidden. In French that would be interdite, which probably has never stopped anybody. It certainly never stopped the Germans. Deutsche is a fine sledgehammer of a language.

This is for sit-on-top kayaks with closed hulls. Open-hull sit-inside kayaks don't really need hatches.

You can order any kind and size of hatch on eBay. They are easy to install - just trace the hole on the hull and cut it out with a jigsaw. A hatch like this one has a storage bag for small items like keys and phone, which removes for access to the inside of the hull.
